The Power of the LBD

This summer I feel like the LWD (little white dress) is having a big moment, and while I do think that look is always so pretty and crisp, I’m still a huge proponent of the LBD. She is a workhorse. And, here are visual examples as to why.

I wore this dress to a work event with a pair of heeled mules.

Then, I changed my shoes, but kept everything else – the jewelry, tote and red lip.

And now, I’m ready for a day running errands or a trip to the park with Ellie, because I could walk for days in these sandals. (The same can not be said for the mules, though they are pretty comfortable.)

Besides dressing it up or down really easily, It is also works in multiple seasons. I’ve worn this same dress with tights, booties and a lightweight jacket in the spring and plan to work it into my fall wardrobe as well. Plus, there are pockets.

Which clothes do you consider secret weapons in your closet?

Dress, LOFT; Mules, Ann Taylor Loft (50% off right now); Slides, Zappos; Lipstick, NARS (Annabella); Tote, Madewell; Earrings, Shopbop; Toes, Sally Hansen, Kashmir Valley

Also, a huge thanks to Crazy Bananas for shooting these and making me giggle as always.
