Let me start by saying, I don’t know the answer to this question despite the fact that I was a HUGE scrunchie wearer in the 80’s.

While some of the new, luxe versions can be super expensive, I found some more affordable options to try first.  One was faux leather and is no longer available at Nordstrom. The other is gray velvet, shown above. They both came in grown-up materials that I hoped would be sophisticated. Instead, I felt like I was wearing a giant sign on my head.
