City Guide: Boston

Boston

A few weeks ago, we headed to the East coast to celebrate a close friend’s wedding. After spending an evening on the beach in Connecticut, we got up early and drove into Boston for a Red Sox/Royals game. It was our second time in Boston, and I immediately remembered how much I loved this city.

Here are some of our favorite things to do in Boston.

GO

– Catch a game at Fenway. There is nothing quite like spending the day at this historic ball field, even if your team loses.

– Explore the North End. Walking around this Italian district feels like you’ve stepped into another country.

– Walk the Freedom Trail. Wear your tennis shoes as you stroll down this historic path. See landmarks like Boston Common, the State House and Paul Revere’s House.

– Tour the Massachusetts State House. If you’re a history geek like me, you’ll love learning more about Boston here.

– Spend some time in the Public Garden. Strolling through this park can be a nice change of pace.

– Shop (or just look in the windows) on Newbury Street.

– See some penguins and a four-story fish tank at the New England Aquarium.

EAT

– Have a romantic bite to eat at Lucca in the North Town.

– Grab a cannoli at Modern Pastry.

– Have a drink at Top of the Hub in the Prudential Tower and enjoy the view.

– Go early to grab a lobster roll or crab salad at Neptune Oyster. This restaurant is tiny and popular, so get their first.

– Stuff yourself with amazing tapas at Toro.

– Munch on oysters and clam chowder at B&G Oysters.

– Grab a slice at Upper Crust.

STAY

– Stay at a quintessential New England hotel, Newbury Guest House.

– Be a little trendy at the Onyx Hotel.
