Watching the E!’s red carpet, I was sort of wringing my hands over the ugly, but after some online research, I was able to see a full range of well-dressed celebs. The coverage had me thinking there were lots of safe choices, but upon further examination, I was pretty impressed with the variety. I’m not sure why I never saw some of these on T.V. (Where were you Jessica Alba? Literally, I never saw five of my picks on T.V.)
This year was one of the first times I’ve seen a red carpet full of fashion risks. Some flopped, while others paid off in my opinion. Because the dresses were so different, fit played a huge in role in the overall success of many of these looks. Some accessory and hair choices also killed certain dresses. I was expecting to see bold colors and flounces, but instead, I saw lots of neutrals and black. If this is an indication of what spring clothes will look like, I think we can expect a mixed bag.
Here are some trends that stood out to me last night.
- Long-sleeves
- Sheer
- Cutouts
- Beading
- White
- Lace
- Interesting hemlines
And without further ado, here are my favorites. Which dresses did you like?
