Last weekend, the husband and I spent three nights in Vegas. It was my fourth time in the city, and each experience has been completely different. Our most recent trip was with a group of couples for a friend’s 30th birthday. We went to shows, ate out and of course, had a few beverages. I had planned on doing a post about this specific trip, but thought it might be more helpful to give tips from each of my trips instead.
- Pack an oversized clutch and put flip-flops or ballet flats inside. Your feet will hurt at some point, and trust me, you’ll be glad to give yourself some relief as you traipse from one end of the casino to the other.
- Don’t forget to pack a small beach bag. Your hotel’s pool will have towels, but it’s nice to have something to carry sunscreen, magazines and your wallet.
- If you tend to get chilly, bring layers (a scarf, cardi or lightweight jacket). Vegas is hot, but the casinos are kept pretty cold.
- If you’re hoping to see celebrities, make reservations for a late dinner at Tao (in the Venetian).
- On my most recent trip, we ate at Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, a Mario Batali restaurant in the Venetian. The food was great. We ordered quite a bit, but the pizzas are perfect for sharing. This is a fun spot for groups.
- Try brunch at Mesa Grill in Caesar’s Palace. The food was spectacular. Everything we tried was interesting and delicious. For breakfast, I had the chilaquiles, absolute perfection.
- For those of you who like sushi or a trendy spot, make reservations for dinner at Social House in Treasure Island.
- I’ve found that unlike other trips there is no such thing as overpacking for Vegas. Bring lots of shoe, handbag, makeup and jewelry options. You will not regret it.
- The Cirque show LOVE is fantastic. It’s well worth the price of admission.
- I’ve been to “da club” many times in Vegas. Here’s my advice. Large, well-known clubs all have bottle service and long lines. If you’re traveling with a large group of girls, this is not a huge problem, as you’ll be able to cut in line after a short wait. However, if you are traveling with a coed group or would just like to be able to sit down after you enter, make reservations at your favorite spot or skip the clubs all together. There are plenty of bar options with no line at every casino.
