I love T.V., which is not a very popular thing to admit. I take great satisfaction in spending my evenings curled up on the couch with a stack of magazines watching whatever happens to be on.

Beginning this week, some networks will start to rollout the latest seasons of their shows. I’m very excited. So far, it looks like a lot of comedies and a few dramas with little new, reality T.V. To which I have to say, “It’s about time.”

Now, that’s not to say I don’t like reality T.V., but it’s nice to see more scripted shows from the networks.

As a self-proclaimed T.V. aficionado, I’d like to give you the scoop on the new programming you should watch this year. At the very least, this is my list of what I hope will be worth watching this year. Or, the new items that are most likely to be cancelled (I have a terrible track record).

Monday:

Gossip Girl (CW) (7:00 p.m.) – Yes, I still love this one. It can be a bit ridiculous, but the glamour and fashion keep me hooked. (Yes, I’m that transparent.)

2 Broke Girls (CBS) (7:30 p.m.) – A new series starring Kat Dennings, this show has had some hype surrounding it. Supposedly, the script is  realistic and reflects the way real women talk to each other. In my book, that’s worth at least checking out one episode.

Hart of Dixie (CW) (8:00 p.m.) – In this new Rachel Bilson vehicle, she plays a New York doctor displaced in the South. Chances are it will be hokey, but let’s face it, I  like that sometimes.

Mike & Molly (CBS) (8:30 p.m.) – This show is pretty cute. The script is okay, but it’s often saved by the standout cast.

The Playboy Club (NBC) (9:00 p.m.) – This is a brand new one for NBC, and they’ve been advertising it like crazy. I have pretty low expectations, but am interested to see how the drama plays out on the small screen. I’ll probably try an episode or two.

Tuesday:

90210 (CW) (7:00 p.m.) – Yes, I still watching 90210 despite the fact that every season it gets worse. Don’t judge me.

Glee (FOX) (7:00 p.m.) – Love, love this show. However, I was disappointed to see Chord Overstreet is no longer on it.

Ringer (CW) (8:00 p.m.) – Sarah Michelle Geller is back! In this mystery, she plays twins who swap identities. It looks pretty darn good. Cross your fingers.

New Girl (FOX) (8:00 p.m.) – Zoe Deschanel stars. That’s all.

Raising Hope (FOX) (8:30 p.m.) – This show is hysterical. I’m hoping it keeps its momentum going. If you haven’t seen it, please try it out. You won’t regret it.

Wednesday:

Up All Night (NBC) (7:00 p.m.) – Christina Applegate is one of my favorite comediennes, and the ads for this show look so funny.

Free Agents (NBC) (7:30 p.m.) – Every time we see the ads for Free Agents at our house we say, “Good for her,” referencing Kathryn Hahn. She’s been in a million movies, and it’s nice to see her with her own show, particularly one that looks so funny.

Suburgatory (ABC) (7:30 p.m.) – This show hadn’t caught my eye at all on its own, but it’s garnered some good press. Be sure to follow the link to the show’s Web page. The clip is pretty great.

Modern Family (ABC) (8:00 p.m.) – Everyone in the cast is funny. Every one.

Happy Endings (ABC) (8:30 p.m.) – This show debuted late last season. I found it quirky and charming. I’m hoping for more of the same this year.

Revenge (ABC) (9:00 p.m.) – This looks so sudsy and suspenseful. I’m anxious to see if it keeps me on the edge of my seat.

Thursday – I have a major conflict on Thursdays, which means I’ll give some of these the ax. Why do networks always do this?:

Charlie’s Angels (ABC) (7:00 p.m.) – In all honesty, I think this will be terrible, but I’m so curious.

The Vampire Diaries (CW) (7:00 p.m.) – Yes, it has vampires and is targeted for teens, but I don’t care. This show is really great.

Bones (FOX) (8:00 p.m.) – Last season wasn’t very good in my books, but I’m hoping they can capture the mystery of past seasons this year.

The Office (NBC) (8:00 p.m.) – Oh, Steve Carrell, why did you leave us? Here’s hoping The Office stays awesome.

The Secret Circle (CW) (8:00 p.m.) – The girl from Life Unexpected stars in this new show about witches. The trailers look great.

The Mentalist (CBS) (9:00 p.m.) – I love me some Simon Baker. He’s so cute.*  If the eye candy is not reason enough for you to tune in, the storyline is also interesting.

Friday:

Chuck (NBC) (7:00 p.m.) – So, I believe this is the series’ last season. It’s a really great show that puts a unique twist on the typical “spy” show. If you’ve never watched it, give it a try, while you still can. 

Grimm (NBC) (8:00 p.m.) – The concept for this one is strange. A man is investigating fairy-tale creatures or something. Not really sure what to make of it, but I am still interested in seeing what it’s like.

Sunday:

Once Upon a Time (ABC) (7:00 p.m.) – Once Upon a Time has a really interesting premise, fairy-tales collide with real life. I’m curious to see what this show has in store and think it could be a surprise favorite with me.

Desperate Housewives (ABC) (8:00 p.m.) – This show hasn’t been good for the last several years. It will get dumped if there’s nothing else on. Fortunately for DH, there rarely has been.

Pan Am (ABC) (9:00 p.m.) – I’m very intrigued by this one. Maybe it’s because my grandpa always wanted my mom to be a flight attendant. Or, it could be that flight attendants in the 60’s just scream glamour. It doesn’t hurt that Christina Ricci heads up the cast.

*Don’t tell my husband.
