A huge thank you to Ms. Tara T for sharing this charming video with me. I adore this song and think you will too.

Have you, like me, been experiencing JT withdrawal* for about five years?
Well, I offer you an alternative that might be a little embarrassing, but is still awesome. The lyrics are a little cheesy/Disney with references to Buzz Lightyear and fondue, but don’t let that hold you back from shaking it to this song. You know I haven’t.
*Justin, we know you have a right to try different career paths, but this is getting ridiculous. Make some music soon.
I had a friend in college who liked to listen to country music when she was in love. I think she was onto something.
While I may not be a huge fan of sitting through award shows, I am very into red carpet fashion. Last night, I made notes as to which Oscar looks were my favorites. Here are my top five. Please note how many are sequined.
1. Mila Jovovich
2. Jessica Chastain
I know I’ve been gone for awhile, and I have a long list of reasons/excuses I’d love to share with you. Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to list them today, so I’m dropping in to woo you with some romantic tunes. (I’ll come clean very soon. I promise.)
Here are two of my recent favorites.
Do you forgive me now? Or, should I send flowers?
I can’t believe we haven’t talked about Downton Abbey here, because I am a woman obsessed.
A sucker for period dramas, the storylines and rich details had me hooked immediately. I first caught a reference to the show from the Fug Girls (I think). It was after the first season had ended, so I watched it on Netflix and was immediately swept away by the upstairs/downstairs residents of Downton.
The new season picked up two weeks ago on Sunday. It airs at 8:00 p.m. CST on PBS and is a nice balance to the Jersey Shore.
Over the last week, I have seen an obscene number of movies – five to be exact.* Two of which were on the same day. And I have to tell you, it was awesome.
Instead of keeping all of this hands-on research to myself, I thought you might like to know what I thought of each, so you can make an informed decision at the theater.
Sherlock Holmes – For me, it was fine. It was probably one of my least favorites of the week, but in all fairness, it had pretty stiff competition.
Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – So, I haven’t read the book. I know I’m probably one of the only people that hasn’t read it. That being said, two of the people who went with me had, and they enjoyed it. Having never read the book, I have to tell you the movie was great. Disturbing and suspenseful, it stays with you awhile after you see it.
Mission Impossible – So, this wasn’t too bad, until they turned up the cheese volume towards the end. And, it gets a little long in the middle, but not too shabby if you’re looking for a little action.
The Descendents – I can see why this movie is getting Oscar buzz. Great performances all the way around. To give you a heads up, it is sad. I cried a little, but it was worth it.
Young Adult – This movie takes a little bit to settle into. Charlize’s character is so selfish that it takes a while to get used to her. That being said, if you’re from a small town or attended high school, it’s pretty funny. Dark, but very funny.
*Actually, I just realized it was more than that, because those were just the ones we saw in the theater.
My love of the various Bravo Housewives is no secret. When I tell you the Beverly Hills season is my favorite, I’m sure you wouldn’t be shocked at all. That being said, I’ve grown a little weary of the show. The yelling, lying and general meanness makes my head spin a bit, and after watching an episode snuggled comfortably in my sofa, I wonder if anyone feels the same way about these ladies as I do. They’re like a pack of hyenas praying on whoever is the happiest, best looking or most successful.
Well, I have to tell you I was thrilled to discover that someone does feel the same way I do. New York Magazine offers weekly blogs breaking down each episode. These insightful posts go beyond a standard recap by offering commentary on each of the women. Reading these makes me feel like someone else has seen what I do, but also the posts often offer information I don’t always catch in each episode (like why Kim might be taking the combination of drugs she’s taking). What’s on your wishlist this holiday?
If I told most of you that I made pizza for dinner the other night, you might assume I made the crust or sauce from scratch and pulled together some sort of chi-chi combination of flavors. I would love to lead you on, but I must confess this is far from the truth. This is my dough. And yes, it’s shameful.
I almost didn’t share this “recipe” for fear it would tarnish my reputation. But then I thought, I know you have busy nights too. And simple, familiar flavors taste really good after a long week. In those cases, I think it’s great to have shortcuts in your back pocket. Pizza is mine. Continue reading
